My yoga journey began when I was pregnant with my first son, in 2004. I decided to try yoga so that I could be more comfortable in my rapidly changing body, and to help bring quiet to my busy, worried mind. After years of practicing yoga on and off, I noticed how much peace I felt on my mat. I was able to feel grounded and connected to my soul. I knew that this was the place I wanted to be, and that I wanted to help others find an internal connection as well. I began my training with a LesMills program, Bodyflow, a yoga, Ta’i Chi, Pilates combination. Soon after, I went on to get several other yoga, group fitness, and personal training certifications including two other LesMills programs, CXWORX, and BodyPump. I am a barre certified instructor, teach aqua aerobics, spin cycle, and yoga for kids. My yoga style is very much geared toward channeling breathing in order to challenge the body through asana, or the body positions, while building intention and focus in the mind. The more I practice and teach, the more I realize how truly healing yoga can be. I strive to help others empower themselves while learning to trust their own bodies and intuition, and to find clarity within themselves through their own practice. Most recently in 2016, I went through a yoga therapy training, so that I can assist individuals who have trauma that can be worked out and released through asana, breathing, and meditation. My goals as an instructor are to help participants to help themselves, love themselves and celebrate their bodies and souls. I truly believe that mind controls the body. That with clear intentions, yoga can help anyone to find self-awareness, personal growth, empowerment, and spirituality.
